   This was our first experience at Whiskey Cake and as former frequent customers of Ida Claire, we wanted to love it. I figured the cocktails would be the star of this restaurant considering its name and that it’s basically a bourbon bar. We had a table of 8 and we all agreed the drinks were watered down and lacked the flavor that was on the descriptions. If something has ginger in it, you should actually taste it, same with peach. Every Old Fashioned just tasted like watered down bourbon with no distinction. Onto the food - the Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious. I had the shepherd’s pie which was good, but not something I would be running back to get as I felt it was a simple dish I could make at home. My husband thought his burger was good, but again, not something he’d have to come to Whiskey Cake for. My niece did like their chicken and waffles better than Ida Claire’s because it “wasn’t fancy”. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t a memorable one either. We would like to give them another chance - maybe for brunch before we call it quits on going to this location for my birthday yearly.

   Good food and service. Music way too loud to have a conversation without shouting. Felt that the price for the (small) glass of wine was disproportionate.

   First time dining here. Top notch experience for the price. Our server, James R., was excellent: extremely knowledgeable about the food items and the right pairings for cocktails. Will most certainly return!

   Everything was great! My only complaint is the noise level. The acoustics could use improvement & on top of the roar of diners, the music was also VERY load. We found ourselves almost yelling at each other to be heard. Food & Service were EXCELLENT!!!

   Fantastic environment! Food was wonderful, especially the goat cheese appetizer. American pie old fashioned was also perfect.

   Good food and service. However even with a reservation for an early dinner, 4pm, we were seated in the bar are that was extremely noisy.

   The place is no noisy that I had to literally put my ear next to my wife's mouth to hear a normal conversation. That is why this place will never earn a five star rating from me. The food was excellent. The wine list was mediocre, not terribly broad, and the service was absolutely five star. But the noise level. I spoke to the waitperson as we were checking out and she said I could try the Rye Room next time, which should be quieter. I may give it a try, but we seldom dine out, so I am uncertain that I want to gamble the money to see if it is actually quieter there.

    Great addition to the town center with a lively vibe and good food. Food is priced reasonably for the area. Love that they have non alcoholic cocktails for those who are sober curious. I tried their zero proof tequila cocktail and it was beautifully presented and quite delicious without being overly sweet. Almost like a margarita but without the hangover. I’ve been here with friends twice and both times the service was quite slow for a 5:30pm midweek reservation. Our drinks came to the table almost 15 mins later and one drink at a time and it was about 30 mins before all of us got our drinks. So there’s some improvement needed on service but our server was very cordial and no complaints about personality. All of that was forgotten when we got the whiskey cake. Omg!! To die for and a huge portion. Overall, we had a good time. Hope they put heaters out on the patio because it can get pretty loud inside where you can’t have a conversation. Will definitely be back but I think they can take some tips from midtown table on how to run a happy hour crowd. We would’ve ordered our second round of drinks there in the time it took to get our first drinks here.
