    Whiskey Ridge has a beautiful outside patio and lots of great food choices. Service needs a little work but if you want a long lunch or dinner it is a good choice.

    the wait staff sort of stood around talking to each other and paid little attention to the customers the wagu NY strip we ordered to be medium was very Rare and did not look like a NY Strip; the fish was good; the side order of corn and spinach was somewhat watery;

    If you're looking for an authentic hill country vibe, look no further. Whiskey Ridge is high end without being pretentious. The cocktails (I recommend the frozen old fashioned) and appetizers are outstanding (I recommend the fried oyster deviled eggs). The main entrees are delicious and sizeable enough to share (check out that double-cut pork chop!!!), and the desserts are five star (I recommend the seasonal cobbler). The service, although young, is top notch and attentive without being intrusive. Although most of their seating is family style, it somehow also allows for privacy within your group. Oh, and their playlist sets the mood perfectly! We heard music from a lot of up and coming country artists. Oh yeah - the sunset views... I recommend booking your reservation for about an hour prior to sunset so that you can take those Instagram-worthy pics after your meal. It's a great spot for a either a weeknight dinner or a special celebration.

    Ordered the grilled shrimp that did not indicate any horseradish in the sauce, got my food and it was so covered in horseradish I could not finish my meal despite trying to be polite and eat it. I was offered a replacement but declined as I just wanted to leave. Very inedible and was very disappointed.

    We went to one of the first brunches WR has held; it was Easter. We sampled most of the brunch menu and found the food to be generally over-seasoned, with odd combinations. Picture two hard-boiled eggs floating in a soupy bowl of chili, or hard-boiled eggs with breakfast steak. I'm sure the eggs were easy for the kitchen staff to prepare, but they added nothing. There were dishes that were mostly starch: biscuits and (soupy) gravy or a large cinnamon roll. They were both tasty, but were an appetizer or dessert, not a main course. Everything came with a side of fruit salad, which meant that as we sampled these dishes, fruit salad kept showing up at the table! One person in our group ordered steak from the regular menu, and even that was over-seasoned. It looked like we got the B Team: B Team in menu planning and B Team in execution.

    FOOD WAS OK NOTHING OUTSTANDING. NOISE LEVEL WAS HIGH AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TALK TO SOMEONE ACROSS THE TABLE FROM YOU. SEATING WAS INTERESTING IN THAT IT WAS COMMUNITY STYLE NOT INDIVIDUAL TABLES SO YOU END UP SITTING NEXT TO PEOPLE AT OTHER END OF LONG TABLES. ALL IN ALL MORE OF A CASUAL PLACE BUT PRICES REFLEX MORE UPSCALE.
