We had a 5 o'clock reservation so we arrived to an almost empty dining room although the bar was busy. Within a short time the restaurant filled up. Surprising for a Tuesday evening. Despite the crowd the service was good although I think our waitress was somewhat overtaxed. Our food came out in good time The Visitation platter was excellent and worth the cost for 4 people. The pate was served with waffles and special. The rockfish was very good. The swordfish was also wonderful The short rib pot roast was tender and tasty although my piece was mostly fat (we shared everything amount four of us. The house salad was a little overdressed for me The lemon meringue dessert was delicious. The restaurant is expensive but certainly within the norms for this type of food. The atmosphere is lovely - an old chapel. The noise level is moderate but we were easily ably to hear each other and the waitress. A really good experience.

Wye Oak, like the hotel it's in, has lot of attitude for a steakhouse in Frederick. It's trying to be like a city steakhouse but it is not competing at the same level. The beef was good but nothing special; same with the starters and sides - we've generally done better at the high-end chains. Service was inattentive. After a problem with the first table we were shown, we sat in a side room and we're glad we did. Even though the decor is very interesting in the main dining room, it's incredibly loud; it was even loud in the side room. (Be aware if it matters to you - the two tops are essentially next to the bar and along the main passageway through the restaurant, so they are in a very busy area.) To be fair, they knew we were not happy, which started with problems with the hotel, and comped our wine. As a side note, but which some reviewers often consider very important, I indicated in the Open Table reservation that we were there for my wife's birthday, but that was not acknowledged by anyone in any way - the hostess, maitre d/floor manager or waiter. My wife, who was more upset/disappointed than I was, would have given two stars for the experience.

what are the like to find such a beautiful restaurant in an equally lovely hotel. We had the best seat in the house upstairs. The servers were charming and polite. The cocktails were creative and inventive. All of our food was delicious.

Very obnoxious server. Started service off by letting us know he didn’t have “time for [us] right now.” It was our anniversary and I specifically asked the manager if my wife could at least go down to the kitchen and take a picture with Bryan Voltaggio. The manager said “yes, I think we can make that happen. Let me go and see if he’s available.” The manager never returned. The food was not as expected. The only truly delicious dish was the beef tartare. The portions are small(ish). We had the 45-day aged ribeye and swordfish. The ribeye was not trimmed properly. The swordfish was a small portion and was not fresh, it was frozen. The whole service, including two starters, two entrees, and three sides took two and a half hours.

Highly recommend this for a special occasion. Pricey but entirely worth it. Great service and exceptional food. We had the whipped ricotta cheese cake appetizer it was savory and delicious. The filets were possibly the best we have ever had. Fork tender and great taste with it without the sauce provided.

Very different setting, an old chapel? Great service. A bit noisy, very crowded around the bar. My wife ordered the Beet Salad (very tasty) I ordered the Baby Romaine which was huge, suitable for splitting. My wife ordered the Soft Shell Crab special. It was one of the largest soft shells I have ever seen. I ordered the melt in your mouth, perfectly cooked Prime Rib. So tender, you dont need teeth to eat it:). Apple Dumpling for dessert. Yummmm.

Lovely experience. Food outstanding, ordered the short rib pot roast. Staff very accommodating helping us gain access to the accessible entrance. Elevator straight into dining area. Bar not accessible, but bar table area is. Valets were friendly and very accommodating since we had a wheelchair. On property All parking is valet. Spaces on the street are an option if you can find one. Must park and enter from Church St side of property.

This was the best meal I’ve ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection. The French fries were amazing. The ambience made the meal even better. Our service was great. Worth every cent.
