   We loved Xiquita! The food, drink and service were all great! The duck mole taco was the best taco I have ever had! The vibe fits the neighborhood. The restaurant doesn’t have much acoustic padding so it is pretty noisy, but still one of the best restaurant experiences in Denver!

   My date and I enjoyed the ceviche, taco, tamal, tezcalate (which was amazing both in appearance and taste) and arroz con leche. Will definitely be back.

   Came here for the dia de los muertos ticketed dinner... we were not sat until 15 minutes after the reservation time...3 of us were sat at a two top squeezed next to a 4 top leaving us cramped for most of dinner. Given this was a ticketed dinner with mezcal pairings and cocktails we expected it to be a great experience. It took far too long to be approached by a waiter and received the welcome drink almost 20 minutes after we were sat (30+ minutes after reservation time). We asked for water 3 different times before finally being brought water cups that were never refilled the rest of the dinner. The food was decent, 2nd and 3rd courses were the best overall however the pork belly 4th course was very tough and over cooked (like hard to cut with a knife overcooked). Throughout the courses we continually had to ask for additional silverware as it was cleared and we were brought our next course without utensils. We did not realize that they would also be serving their regular menu at the same time as the ticketed 5 course event, maybe that would have been a better option as it seemed that the 5 course menu was more of an afterthought with their main menu customers seeming to get better service than what we experienced. Desert was essentially a sugar coated slice of bread with cream on it...all in all just not what we expected for what was a $150 per person dinner. The cocktails were good, mezcal pairings just okay. If you are going to have a ticketed event with a special menu, make it seem like a priority, this did not feel that way. We left thinking the most memorable item was the tortillas with butter. Maybe we will try Lucina but likely wont return here unless requested by friends.

   I was super excited to try Chiquita. I’m not from Denver and it was the only nice dinner I had planned. I ordered the beef tartare, ceviche, and oysters for my app. The ceviche and oysters were AMAZING! My favorite. The tartare was kind of bland but I poured the ceviche juice on it to give it more flavor. We also ordered a few of their main courses I can’t remember the name of but will post pictures, all of them were super mediocre:/ everything was heavily masa based. Maybe it’s their style and just not what I was expecting. They have an option to pay that involves the app inKind. Since it was my first time it knocked of $50 from the tab. That made the place worth it. Restaurant was beautiful inside and our waitress was nice.

   The food was distinctive and very well-prepared. I particularly liked the sope and albondigas. The ambiance is welcoming and warm. The service was attentive without being overbearing, my personal sweet spot. I will definitively come back.
