Delicious foods but tiny portions and we don’t have big appetites. The drinks were also lovely. All the staff we met were really excellent

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience eating at this restaurant in the basement for the set menu. Although it was a very busy place, the food was mediocre. The noise level was enough to make you want to eat and run as quickly as possible. I would never return there as we were relieved the moment we left. Way too expensive for what you get. There are so many other places that have better food and lower noise level in Dublin.

Food was overall good but it seems pricey for the amount of food you get. Also, the mandatory service charge after a 3 people table is not deserving of the actual service you get.

Hi Mariu, thanks s much for your feedback. We're disappointed to see that your visit did not meet your expectations. To clarify, we use high quality ingredients from reputable sources, while operating in a prime city centre location that reflects in our prices. When it comes to the service charge we would be more than happy to remove it should you find our service inadequate. We really hope you will give us another try. Kind regards, Izakaya.

Lovely ambience anf delicious food as always! The 5 Japas for 45 euros was a great value, and definitely enough for 2 people if you want also to taste some sushi.

Food was tasty but you didn't get much, considering the cost. We ordered a share plate of sushi for €21 and received only 5 pieces between 2 people which I thought was odd. Again, food was nice but portions were a bit scabby. Staff were very friendly and service was okay but I imagine that was due to how busy the place was with Christmas parties, etc.

Hi Louise, thanks so much for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that your visit didn't meet your expectations. Went for our work Christmas party, we were a party of 6. Extremely slow service, an hour waiting to get our first course and then waited half an hour between courses. Was 11.30 until we were offered dessert but we were asked to go upstairs as the downstairs area turned into a dance area. Not impressed.
Yamamori Izakaya Japas & SakeResponded on 19 December 2024
Hi Eamear, thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially during such a special occasion. Unfortunately, it was one of out busiest nights, and unexpected delays occurred due to a combination of factors, including late arrivals and overlapping orders. Please know this isn't reflective of our usual standards, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the slower service and the change in seating arrangements. We genuinely appreciate your understanding as we tried our best to accommodate everyone that evening. We hope you will visit us again in the future. Kind regards, Izakaya.

We had a large group for our Christmas party, I booked this restaurant as we’ve been before with a large group and really enjoyed it. The food was great as usual but we were surprised when we got the bill at the end when we saw the 5 or 6 bowls of edamame that had been put in front of us at the start of dinner were charged at €7.50 each. We did not ask for the edamame, we were not told how much they cost and we all collectively assumed since they were put in front of us and no one asked for them they were complimentary. To be honest this just comes across as incredibly shady and left a bad taste in our mouth along with some other unnecessary confusion with the bill.
Yamamori Izakaya Japas & SakeResponded on 19 December 2024
Hi Kathy, thanks so much for your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food and that you've chosen to return to us with your group. We sincerely apologise for the confusion regarding Edamame. It is a standard practice for us to offer it at the start of the meal as a shared appetizer, but we understand how this could have been misinterpreted without clear communication from our team. Your feedback highlights an area where we need to improve, and we'll make sure to clarify this with our guests moving forward. We're glad to have been able to adjust your bill as a gesture of goodwill and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the nearest future for a smoother and fully enjoyable experience. Kind regards, Izakaya.
