   The staff was amazing, super nice, very accommodating. The french onion soup and green salad were very good. For the money, i didn't think it was anything special. One dish was overcooked, steak was well made but nothing special. Drinks were good. Props again to the staff.

   Everything was exceptional, from the service, the food, the ambiance & the cocktails! The pizzas are delicious, made in a wood fired oven - the only one in Aspen. ZigZag is my new favorite place to dine in Aspen!

   The trout and steak were both great! Very happy with the food overall and was presented beautifully. The desert menu felt like an after thought, all had ice cream - when it’s cold and snowy out - was a little odd. Also I had looked at the menu prior to going and it was weird pizza wasn’t offered on the dinner menu, even though there is a giant wood fired oven in the restaurant. We were sat at a table right in front of the door despite it not being busy and were freezing every time the front doors opened. Restaurant was also VERY smoky, the staff kept opening the doors trying to air it out. When we got home we noticed our clothes, hair, etc smelled like smoke as if we had gone camping. Not the best experience. I would maybe only go back and sit at the bar but not to dine again.

   This was our first time at ZigZag and we loved it! We had reservations but decided to sit at the bar instead and were fine with our choice. Our bartender Edwin was friendly, attentive, and honest about what we should order. The food was delicious (we had a a variety of 6-7 dishes between the two of us?? And they were all great!), drinks were great, and we’ll definitely be back. Cheers!

   The good: Appetizers! Beef Tartare was great. Scallops were very good. The not so good: The bass was prepared very well, but then they took the nice, crisp bass and served it in a soupy sauce. So, 1/2 the bass skin that was crispy, was now wet and soggy. Plus, at $51 for the bass, it would have been standard practice in France to at least offer to de-bone the bass. ZigZag did not offer. If you figure 20% tip on everything you order, that means $10 tip for the bass. For $10, you should offer to de-bone the bass. The cast iron shrimp were bland. The spices did not do the work. The french fries were decent, but they need to up their game on french fries. They are new and there is room for improvement. Let's start with crispy bass on both side (put the sauce/soup on the side) and de-bone the bass. Figure out how to get the shrimp a bit more flavor.

    A great new Aspen restaurant. We will certainly go back. The staff was very accommodating with our large group, the menu is really nice and the food all tasted amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere is a lot of fun!
