Our server, Jose, was one of the best servers we have ever had. He was fun, knowledgeable, always there when we needed him. We ordered the French Onion Soup and the Mixed Salad to start, both were on point. My husband ordered their version of Steak Frites, a chopped ribeye basted in butter and thyme and served with the best frites! I ordered the Sole, deboned table side, it literally melted in my mouth. Dessert was Chocolate Souffle and Cheesecake...both again were made to perfection. The ambiance set the tone for the night and did not disappoint The wait staff was very attentive to our needs and made sure that we were pleased with each course. We had a table for two against a window—perfect, we had light and were away from the “energy” of the entrance and bar—and make no mistake, Rummi’s is energetic! There are a lot of people, a lot of movement, and with that comes volume. But that is part of Rummi’s. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate spot, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a fun night with wonderful food and service, you’ve found it! Food/service? I’ve never had anything less than excellent food here (I gravitate to the sea bass and a date milkshake for desert). Also, I’ve never had less than stellar service. The staff was very friendly and made our visit so enjoyable. The only thing we had to adjust was our reservation time. The buffet was listed as 11-5 but Open Table gave us a 5pm reservation and confirmed it. I read some reviews about others arriving previously and finding the restaurant was closed at their reservation time. So I called the restaurant directly and found they did want the last seating to arrive by 430 so they could close at 5.
