Located on the banks of the Truckee River between Truckee and Tahoe City, this rustic old Tahoe lodge has been a Tahoe dining favorite for many, many years. Choose between a cozy table in our Alpine Dining Room or along the river in our River View Dining Room. In the summer, dine on our patio that overlooks the river. Enjoy great food and drink that is creative and interesting while being delicious and familiar. The menu changes seasonally to ensure use of the most available sustainable, fresh ingredients.

Food was excellent and the service was top tier. The waitress was very attentive and friendly, and seated us next to the fireplace when the patrons left. That was a nice touch because it was snowing, outside, so the fireplace made the ambience nice and cozy.

Such an icon. Love the seasonal menu and warm service. Happy hour 3-5 during the week. Great bar area. Amazing view of the truckee river. Most importantly, wonderful food !

Such a great experience at this restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the host/bartender and seated at a table overlooking the Truckee river. Our server, Courtney, was knowledgeable, super nice, and made the evening enjoyable. The food - well, what can I say except that it was really delicious? The Brussels sprouts are a must, the Mahi Mahi prepared to perfection, the quinoa stuffed delicata squash was so tasty, and the flourless chocolate torte was a great ending to our meal.

We dine at River Ranch as often as possible, and after finishing playing for the show, The Prom, with Truckee Community Theater, my husband and I had the privilege of taking my band members to dinner. It was fun being served by Esa, as always, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My drummer and 2nd keyboardist had not been to River Ranch, so it was totally fun to introduce them to this wonderful experience.

Very noisy, hard to hear each other talk across the table. I wish we sat next to each other at the bar. Bar was very busy too. There was a football game on which we also enjoyed. That may of been why it was so noisy or the high ceiling.
