Hi
This was our first time back since before our friend who owned it, passed away.
We made a reservation as we thought it may be busy.
To them they were busy but to us there weren't a lot of tables full.
My husband and I both agreed if they were understaffed or running behind, it should have been addressed at the seating. About 10mins to be greeted and served a drink. took our appetizer order. 10 more mins to take order and 20 mins to get app. which we thought would overlap with our meals. But the meals came out another 15 mins later. Five mins prior, My husband heard that a burger and onion rings was brought to the wrong table, he said it's probably mine. If It's cool, then you know it was. My husband doesn't complain in restaurants unless it's blatant disrespect. It wasn't but I could tell by his face and could see his burger was rare and should have been medium. he ate it anyway. I had the Chicken parm, It was good, I didn't care for the noodles and sauce but that's just my taste buds. We did not address the server, but we still felt that we and other patrons should have been told up front that it would be a while to get food out etc. I actually heard on my way to the restroom some older woman say they needed extra napkins. I grabbed some on my way back and dropped them at their table. They were very appreciative. First they thought I worked there but then they saw me sit with my husband.
I feel bad talking down about the restaurant, they just need a better plan. I waitressed over 20 years through my working years so I know how hard it is.
What would a behavioral coach advise, Communicate!!! Be upfront, speak honestly and don't go to bed mad. On that note we will not go back anytime soon. Sorry folks! :(
