Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith.

Our menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though working at Michelin-starred restaurants across the country.

From Don: You may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, & popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because she makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too. These things are all my favorites.

The LaChona brand was born out of a love for sharing incredible wine with close friends and family. Ask any Argentinian what their favorite pastime is and they will likely say “asado con familia”, or grilling with the family. Slow-cooked lechon, fire-kissed chorizo, and hand-crafted empanadas born of generational influences and traditions are all paired with the perfect Malbec, Cabernet Franc, or Semillon every Sunday. A beautiful experience in the neighborhood. We have been 2x in the last month. It has been a great spot to meet up with a girlfriend, do the wine tasting flights, share their tasty, perfectly dressed salad and split a few empanadas. Wines are a 10! Empanadas are fun to try all the different options and are perfectly paired with their wine selection. 100% recommend this spot for a date night with a friend!

The table we requested was already booked and we were disappointed not to get the one we asked for. However, they put us at a wonderful booth and it was very quiet and we had a lovely time. The food was fabulous as usual and the service was great. Our server was helpful, kind but not TOO attentive.

Theres’s a surprising depth of Burmese food in NYC. After having it in abundance in San Francisco I was pleasantly surprised to find a high quality Burmese restaurant in a Portland suburb on a random trip so I booked a team dinner here. The food was better the second time and I plan on coming back any time I’m in the area.

This cozy little teahouse is, for me, exactly how a teahouse should feel. Small, warm, and filled with atmosphere and the smell of freshly brewed tea. We made reservations ahead of time, and I'm glad we did. It got busy quickly. We were served tea fairly quickly, and the tea was of good quality. Fairly full leaves, good color of the brew, and strong aroma. We paired our various selections of black and oolong tea with the salmon tower and the garlic noodles, both of which had good flavor. We stayed for a while, had a second brewing of our leaves, and chatted in the small space until we were contented. I will be back!

Absolutely wonderful meal and service. Though noisy around 6:00 to 6:30 it quieted down for the next hour as the dinner rush subsided. We had Ahi Tuna and Chilean Sea Bass entree’s and both were delicious.

We went to Claim Jumper's in Tualatin 3 years after moving to Lake Oswego. We were delighted to discover that it's similar to the Northwood's Inn we used to love back in CA, but with better food and a bigger selection. Nice kid's menu, too. I'm sure we'll make it one of our favorites--and next time, I'll leave room for one of their fabulous cake desserts! Trudi Lake Oswego
