About the restaurant
Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks is a neighborhood bistro experience in Houston that has become a favorite with locals ever since opening the doors in 1997. Known for the freshest Gulf seafood and mouthwatering steaks, Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks has been given kudos and awards galore, including from Houston Press, Texas Monthly, Saveur Magazine and the Houston Chronicle.

House specialties at Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks include lobster and shrimp enchiladas, seafood gumbo, fresh fish, and Texas Gulf oysters . For something other than seafood try the filet mignon. Just be sure to save some room for dessert because the white chocolate bread pudding with pecans and bourbon sauce is to die for.

About the restaurant
Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.

The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.

In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

So great to find a place in Houston that serves Maine oysters! They were fresh and delicious and we loved the shaved horseradish! Our server Gabby was also great! We will be back!

This has to be one of the best restaurants in town. Food was great. Service was perfect. Only issue is a rather thin and not well considered wine list. The white wine offerings were particularly disappointing, especially for restaurant whose menu feature a sizable number of fish dishes.

Montrose
About the restaurant
Owned and operated by the Teas family for over 15 years, Eugene's (formally Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen), continues to serve Houston's finest Cajun-style Gulf Coast Cuisine. Conveniently located between Montrose and River Oaks. The restaurant is a neighborhood spot where everyone feels at home.

Join us in celebrating the flavors and traditions of the Gulf Coast in a charming, casual-fine dining atmosphere. All our dishes are made from scratch (except the Ranch dressing and Blue Bell ice cream) and our seafood and steaks are grilled over a wood-burning fire of oak and hickory. The freshest seafood, USDA certified beef steaks, delicious sides, daily specials, decadent desserts, wonderful wines, best martini’s in town and genuine Southern hospitality are a few of the things that will keep you coming back.

The four of us enjoyed our experience. We had the redfish. Fried Shrimp and the sea Bass special and the stuffed Flounder special. Two were excellent. The Fried Shrimp were delicious but very small! The Flounder Special was the dish that was the huge disappointment! He could not eat it. I told the waiter and he apologized, talked to management and took it completely off the bill! This was a wonderful surprise and the mark of an excellent restaurant! We are regular patrons and will continue to be! Thanks!

Upper Kirby / Shepherd Corridor
About the restaurant
Jim Goode's love of seafood was born from a childhood spent along the sun-soaked Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. It was this love for coastal dishes, Cajun flavors and time spent together that Jim passed down to his own kids - and to the plates still on our menu today.

Fresh food speaks for itself - so we don't send ours swimming in heavy sauces. Instead, our daily Gulf catch is grilled over mesquite or lightly battered and fried golden. It's this tasteful preparation that leads to mouthwatering plates worth diving into.

Piled high with shrimp and crab meat, our famous Campechana gets its kick from a special blend of pico de gallo, fire-roasted Anaheim peppers and diced avocadoes. Pair it with tortilla chips or saltines and wash it all down with a cold one. Specialty cocktails, beer and wine served daily. Times and offerings vary by location.

We had another great meal at this restaurant! We eat there once a month. The food is consistently over the top and, relative to other seafood restaurants, a great value. We started with the fresh gumbo and homemade onion rings. Then it was bacon-wrapped shrimp and fried catfish. It was our first time to order these entrees. The shrimp were huge and perfectly done. The catfish was the best fried catfish I have ever eaten! The ambiance of the interior is so cool. The service is always great. We've had every server at one time or another and they are all professional but fun. There's a lot of tenure in that staff. The company obviously cares about the customers and their employees. We'll be back next month.
