We made reservations at Chicago Chop House as part of our annual holiday trip downtown and it did not disappoint. We were seated on the 2nd floor right in front of the window and enjoyed the view of the Christmas tree on the rooftop along with the Christmas music from the piano player on the 1st floor. The appetizer (Wagu meatballs). steaks and mashed potatoes were delicious. The Creme Brulee was fabulous! Overall we thought the cost was in alignment with most steakhouses but the ambience and the staff (Gabe, our waiter) made it a wonderful holiday experience. Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday last night. Our server Juan enhance our dining experience with his exemplary level of service and knowledge of Spanish cuisine. He guided us through the entire dining process from picking out the best steak for our tastes we anre heavy into dry aged steak. He suggested a steak that was a special for the evening and the sides to complement. I’m giving Asador Bastian 4 stars because I wish the portion of the steak tartare was larger. That was a disappointment. Otherwise, the service, ambiance, quality of cuisine was outstanding. Please request Juan to be your server.

We made a reservation, but decided we wanted to eat in the bar area. The owner is courteous and very customer service friendly and added us to the waitlist for a bar table. We didn't mind at all sitting at the bar.Ordered drinks and some shrimp cocktail. The food was excellent. We ordered the dover sole and salmon All excellent. Next time.. surf and turf. Love the neighborhood feeling with elevated service and food. Can't wait to go back. We used to live in the neighborhood and went here in the 80's. Even ran into some old friends Just love they kept this gem in Melrose and Tom is making plans to keep it going even better. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

I invited work colleagues out to dinner. GIbson's never dissapoints. Service with Pua was excellent. All meals super tasty. Try the ribeye!
