Casual environment with great selection of beers and a menu with many comfort food options. They offer generous flights of beers and let you choose those you wish to try. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was very good. Would recommend the veggie burger and the fish and chips.

Magpie is a family owned and operated independent restaurant in Midtown Sacramento. Since 2005, Magpie has served farm to table fare that reflects the values of life in California’s Central Valley. We are walking distance from California's state capitol building and convention center on the corner of 16th and P Streets overlooking the beautiful tree filled Fremont Park. The lively restaurant space features artwork and murals from local artists with bar, booth and table seating. Very nice food, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Beer and wine selections just right for us. I ordered the pork chop and my wife the gnocchi. Cost was well within reason.

I went here for lunch and it was an excellent meal at a reasonable price. I had the tomato bisque which was fabulous, then was completely enthralled with the ahi tuna salad. I was totally full and happy with my meal and the entire experience. Service was quick and attentive (even though the place was very busy with the holiday events) but not intrusive.

Love Monkey Cat! We enjoyed the view from our window table as we watched shoppers hurry by. Our server, Cheyenne, was lovely and attentive, and the meal was delicious.

I was there to celebrate xmas with friends. The food was great, the service great as well. I found the experience a tad pricier than other similar eateries. Although they were busy, noise was not issue. I highly recommend Sheldon Inn .
