   My steak & lobster were cooked perfectly. The broccolini was barely warm. My wifes scollops were overcooked. Maybe may last restaurant prefixed dinner.

   We have enjoyed dinner at Sheldon Inn several times in the past without disappointment. We booked it for New Years Eve knowing they were offering a fixed menu priced at $115. per person plus the cost of cocktails and gratuities. We were extremely disappointed, as the service was ok at it's best, there were several servers just standing around, and it took forever to get a cocktail order. The food, although good was nothing spectacular. We thought there would be perhaps something special since it was New Years Eve but it turned out to be just another night our at the Restaurant.

   Amazing New Year’s Eve menu! We loved every bite. Awesome service and cocktails. This place Rocks! It will be my go too for special occasion’s!

   Food and service are top notch but the prices are too high. I realize costs have gone up etc etc. I’ve eaten at Sheldon Inn for many years. Now it’s unaffordable. Tonight’s dinner was a splurge that can’t happen again. I’m glad there are people who can afford it. Let them enjoy. I will be unable to return due to cost. Especially because I can get a better burger, the least expensive thing on your menu, at Tower Cafe or Revolution Winery and Kitchen for less than yours. Disappointing that you’ve priced yourself out of my disposable income.

   It was a great experience. The server was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a couple appetizers and a couple drinks to start off the night. We didn't realize they close at 9 PM on Fridays as we continued to chat & finally given the check around 9:20pm. It was as nice not to feel rushed, but next time we will be more mindful of the time. Our bad.

   This is our second visit to the Sheldon Inn and much like last time the food was delicious and well executed. I would describe the menu type as elevated, "comfort classics." My husband loved his beef stroganoff and my father-in-law raved about his Niman Ranch pork chop. I found my filet mignon to be perfectly cooked and the onion bordelaise to be on point; however, the fingerling potatoes were quite undercooked and I ended up just leaving them on my plate after taking one bite. I would definitely recommend starting with one of their signature cocktails and the crab cake appetizer. Both were generous portions and the crab cakes may be one of the best I've eaten in recent memory Kudos also go out to our server, Gino, who balanced attentiveness and hospitality without being intrusive or overbearing. The only point of improvement I would suggest is regarding the front end staff. We had one elderly, disabled guest with us. We arrived on time for our reservation and the table was open (in fact, it was early enough that the restaurant was quite empty), it appeared that the perhaps the server had not arrived yet as the hostess told us she would seat us "shortly." The two hostesses focused on wiping menus and chatting amongst themselves and passerbys; whereas, good form would be to notice that one of our guests was struggling immensely to stand with her cane and and offer to seat her at the table and allow her to wait there. A refresher course in observation and hospitality may be needed on this front. Overall, we would recommend the Sheldon Inn for special occasion dining, a date night, or simply a nice meal out. Definitely worth the drive out to Elk Grove.

   Everything was great-food, service, special touch with complimentary photo and birthday acknowledgement on menu. I requested a booth but was told that booths are reserved for bigger parties but we would be seated in a private area. That was not true. We were seated in the middle of other tables and there was no other private areas. Also, booths seat 4 so a party of 2 could be seated at a booth and there were two booths. Not happy with the ambiance.

    It was an amazing experience. The food, Beverages and the entire staff were exceptional ! They were very accomodating and made you feel right at home. we will continue to make another reservationthrough Open Table in the near further>
