   It was kind of bizarre, arrived at 1:20 for a 1:30 reservation but was told that we could. not be seated until our reservation time. Eventually just went to the bar to grab a table to sit down and eat. Service was spotty because there was not enough staff. The staff was very helpful, but obviously overwhelmed by the number of guests. Great views of S.F.

   Great way to spend New Year’s Day with my family. Wait wasn’t too long to be seated. Food came out on time. It was all delicious!

   The meal was so underwhelming and not worth the $71.00 price tag. I did not expect the prix fixe menu as it was not mentioned on their website. I was there in 2020 for New Years Eve and had access to their full menu and the food was fantastic! My filet mignon was dry and tasteless and seemed like it was under a heat lamp for hours. The best part of my meal was the bread. Now that's pretty sad. I will not be going back if there is a prix fixe menu. Extremely disappointing!!!

   Overall it was a great evening. The food was very good and fresh. Really enjoyed the cocktails and the Buratta appetizer. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. Very friendly and genuine. Great views and ambiance. Good prices for a pre-fixed menu. Would recommend for Hew Years Again.

   first of all , our reservation was for 5pm.. we come in the door .. full of people by time we get to check in , it’s 5:05? evidently .. it doesn’t matter if reservation is at 5 pm of 5:15 was there before us they go in at their time? i didn’t understand that rule? we sat and waited till 5:40pm .. even though we asked 1 time about why? what .. no one came to us , nothing .. we didn’t know if they were low on help what? anyway, we did get seated out wait staff came promptly… they mixed up my food , similar fish but wrong vegetables. and took it away, i would of ate it because i had cut into the food .. potatoes were cold and beans were?? back in the day skates would bring you a drink or water or something of you had to wait so long for your reservation or at least check in on you.. the one person who we did have contact was not very friendly.. i know skates is run by a corporation now … i limit my visits .. because i have to wait 30-60 min every visit for my table.. i saw several people come in and seat them selves on bar side ? even though i heard a wait staff say it was reservations only? anyway, i guess not coming here for another year or so? so sad!

    Great dinner out with friends. It was a bit chilly in the space and I felt like I had to wear my coat to be comfortable. Otherwise, lovely restaurant that I'd come back to.
