In 2009, we became Oxford’s neighborhood restaurant and living room. The brain child of Award-Winning Chef, John Currence, Snackbar is a Southern Brasserie that prides itself on using local Mississippi ingredients whenever possible.     Hands down one of the best meals that I have had in Oxford! 3 of us had different fish and all 3 dishes were delicious! Started with sweet potatoes poppers, salad and oysters and finished with dessert and french pressed coffee. Cannot wait to come back!

    The service was off. Drinks took a long time and one didn’t even come until after the meal and our party of 4 had food come at all different times. The food was interesting but not great. Garnishes were thrown on the side. Food was lukewarm.

    Seating placement is incredibly poor. 7 women crammed into a 5 seat corner booth next to our shared bench party of 2 table. This resulted in 4 different conversations, overwhelming our private dinner. We have eaten here during graduations, and football games at the community table, we’ve never been this inconvenienced or overwhelmed! We drove over from Huntsville,AL for a long weekend We will reconsider booking at this establishment again. When departing, we expressed our displeasure to the hostess she replied, “I booked for 6 people, and I am sorry” Table is clearly for 5 grown adults and 7 were seated. (Bar took quite a long time to bring a drink, food has been better)

    Early New Years dinner at the Snack Bar was excellent. The menu was interesting and the wine was paired with thoughtfulness. We were seated in a corner away from the entrance. We thought we had the best seats in the place. Great!

    Great vibe, good food, although somewhat pricey for the quantity. It always kinda galls me when they charge for bread. They should at least offer one piece complimentary. Drinks are pricey also.
