Soby’s New South Cuisine is an eclectic blend of contemporary continental cuisine infused with traditional Southern ingredients, transforming old favorites into something fresh and new. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Greenville, in a renovated cotton mill built in the 1800s. The atmosphere is warm and energetic and the staff is well-trained to provide a fantastic dining experience for all of our guests. In addition, the wine list offers more than 500 selections and is a Wine Spectator Magazine award-winner regular.

Shrimp and grits was a delicious meal. I was impressed with the flavor of the grits by themselves without the flavorful sauce from the shrimp. The Osso Bucco was delicious but small portion of meat on a big bone, and its risotto was spectacular in flavor. The service was excellent as well.

We started with the octopus appetizer which was excellent, cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. The burrata and beet salad was great and large enough to share. I had the trout special and my husband had the lamb special. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server was awesome and ensured my husband had a gluten free meal as requested. The restaurant was packed with several very large groups so the noise level was high but we still had a great time.

Waitress was lovely and apologized for our wait, as the hostess stand did not inform her that they added a table to her area. Food was delicious! The table my wife and I sat at was for a 4-top, although a 2 seat table was only 10 ft away. We will be back.

We always have a wonderful experience at SOBYS The salmon with the crab cake sides I LOVE! My husband got the filet and it did not disappoint The shee crab soup was delicious! We also love the fact that we can valet park there when we see a show at the Peace Center!
