Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

The menu will transport your palate to a bistro somewhere in Europe. Items ranging from fresh-baked pizzas, pastas, vegetarian entrées, steaks, and seafood will satisfy any appetite.     Excellent service by Olivia. Spent the evening getting caught up with another couple. Noise level was tolerable for dinner conversation. Food selection and flavour were very good. Nice evening.

    Service and ambiance of the place was excellent. My partner and I’s entree was heavily seasoned. I could eat mine when I removed the bacon but my partner barely finish half his meal. We reported this to the server who came to attend to our table and the matter was attended to right away, quite graciously. I really appreciated this.

    Ribs had excellent flavour. Date and maple syrup overtones. Really well done. My partners shrimp pasta had excellent flavours, but would have benefited from more sauce.

    Service was excellent, very attentive. Food was outstanding, loved the chicken pot pie soup. Perfect comfort food on a cold day.

    Food was good but service wasn’t great. Made a reservation but had to wait half hour for a seat. Our server never checked in on us and never gave us her name.

    Sole's well rounded menu allows for new dining experiences even for those, who like to come often. Our latest dinner started with red pepper soup and yellow fin tuna tartare, the soup well seasoned and the tartare to taste, because the spicy sauce served with it was separate and allowed to add to from mild to quite spicy. Dinner was a dish of mussels, prepared as a special request. Adding seasoning and basil to the cream based sauce balanced well the creaminess of the sauce and turned it into a tasty experience. French 75 as a cocktail and Schiraz as a wine choice complemented the courses, proving again that red wine is no longer only for red meats. Coffee with creme was a fitting conclusion. Great restaurants offer not only food and drink but also ambience and memorable service and Sue and Maria certainly met expectations. Expert and personable service with a smile! Look forward to the next visit!

    Another lovely dinner at Sole. Service was good, Emily was friendly, checked back to our table, worked to get everything out quickly. We were not in a hurry, still appreciated her efforts. Short Ribs were very good, nice portion and served hot. I've had it before with red pepper polenta, which was very good. This time, disapointed there is not polenta or a starch, as the "smear" of carrot, ginger and paprika puree was lost under the meat. Would have liked a bit of roasted veg such as carrots or brocolli or sprouts. Would still recommend the Short Ribs. Tiger Shrimp Mafaldine was one of the best dishes I have had at Sole as well as at several restaurants I visited recently in downtown TO. It was hot, pasta was just right, generous portion of shrimp. Nice flavour punch from the roasted tomatoe cream sauce, not spicy, very flavourful. Recommend the Tiger Shrimp. VERY good.
