Sopra, an American Bistro, opened in the spring of 2008 with the goal of serving fresh and delicious Italian-American bold flavored foods, with global influence, in a fun and lively setting that makes our guests feel at home from the moment they walk in the door. Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown, Sopra Bistro combines the laid back atmosphere of Lake Geneva with the dynamic feel of Lincoln Park, Chicago.
The warm wooden barstools, chairs and tables create a harmonious balance of elegant American bistro and a comfortable neighborhood bar.

                                                        I don't mind the darkness, but the music was a bit too loud and I know I sound old, but when you can't hear your waiter well due to it, it shouldn't be as loud. Food was amazing again and loved the vibe for new years

                                                        Our waiter was outstanding very good at making sure all the needs of our party were met. However certain dishes such as the nochi was sub-par and over seasoned. Additionally, for the price in this location is a bit over priced. Overall 3/5

                                                        The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the menu looks great - unfortunately the execution wasn't great when we visited. We had a table for 7. It took nearly an age for the first 4 dishes to come out (mac and cheese!) but the other three meals did not come out until we had asked the waitress twice to hurry the rest of the food up. When it did arrive, the medium rare steak was destroyed and can only be described as extremely well done. We even had to ask 3 times for bred for the table. The waitress said it was Saturday night and the chef doesn't have any help in the kitchen..... I suggest that for an improved customer experience, that he hires more staff. On a good note, we did have allergy requirements and they were all honored which was great

                                                        Another great meal and experience at Sopra. The new menu is excellent. My husband and I shared Elaine’s Big Salad with creamy oregano dressing and warm bread with sea salted butter. I enjoyed the Scallops with puréed butternut squash entree and he enjoyed the Osso Buco gnocchi entree. Everything was exceptional! The service is also wonderful. We especially have had great service from Diane and Ava.

                                                        My husband and I were excited to try Sopra, it had great reviews and the menu online looked delicious. Well unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our meal and when you’re looking to spend $50/plate, you want a GREAT meal. They took us upstairs where there was only one other couple, which they sat us right next to, and no music (until we asked them to turn some on). The drinks were well made and the apps were good. My husband ordered the tenderloin medallions and the server said “the chef recommends medium rare.” All 3 of the medallions were medium well. We told the server and he promptly took it back to the kitchen to be remade. The restaurant was good about it and comped the meal. However, unfortunately, the medallions came back well done the second time. It was pretty disappointing.
