Staff were friendly and a busy restaurant means you are in a place that clearly is making great food! Be sure to book a table in advance so you aren’t waiting for a table as the Tavern is popular. As a paraplegic, they were able to provide a table and there’s also accessible restroom facilities for both Male/Female.

I loved the food and the ambiance. I didn’t give the service 5 stars because they were super busy and flustered by it. Other than that, the waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. The poke bowl is not to be missed.

This restaurant seems nice. We ate here apres ski outdoors and had a nice time with no expectations. When eating dinner that we had a reservation for, our expectation was higher and sadly the reviews didn't live up to what we received. In both cases, the servers had waaaay too many tables. For apres ski, we asked for a to-go box but eventually left without it because we got tired of waiting. Drinks were often not refilled when needed. Food was slow and came out separately. Outdoors all our food was good. Indoors, I had the tuna bowl which came highly recommended by our server. My overall impression was "eh." It seemed like they were trying too hard to do a 5 star tuna bowl with little flavor, tuna that had almost no flavor and tased a little frozen, way too much rice that was so sticky I couldn't break it apart, though the seaweed salad tasted nice. I wish I'd ordered something else. Food did not come all at once. The kitchen was clearly slammed and service was compromised because of this. My daughter asked for a plain steak with parmesan on it. They forgot the parmesan and the steak looked less like a rib eye and more like a sirloin (flat and only about 3/8" thick, no marbling). They managed to do a good job on the pb&j's... Overall impression is that we might come here again for apres ski but not dinner. We feel for the staff who are clearly overworked and don't have enough help. But for $30-50/person, we expect better service and better food.

Spent NYE here for 2024-2025! We had a lovely time. They had live music and and great food! Overall service was very good and we would absolutely recommend.

An early New Year’s Eve dinner at Tavern on the Square was great. The food was very good. The service was excellent. We did not feel rushed. The vibe was still in transition from apres ski and we were seated at a high top so it felt a little more bar and grill than nice dinner but the food and service overcame that.

Reserved weeks ahead for a group of 9. We were offered a booth that was meant for 8, or a table that was also set for 8 and were told that the table next to it would clear out shortly allowing us to add more seating and for the 9th person to sit. We took the table and squeezed 9th person onto the end of the table which was only 1/2 of the end of a table as the end was partially blocked by a permanent fixture in the restaurant. After we sat, we realized the table we were told was about to clear out had not even received their food yet. The 9th person had to sit in this 1/2 seat the entire dinner. In addition, our server who was a very tall male (over 6’3”) had a very rude demeanor. A female server wanted to service our table, but the host said no and reassigned this male waiter to our table who gave a rude look for being assigned our table. Any questions we had about the menu were answered in a very short manner and seemed to be annoying to him. When he took all of our orders and one person in our party asked if they could change their order (immediately after all orders were taken and he had not even stepped away from our table) he literally rolled his eyes at the guest and ran off (apparently to try to change the order which he had already submitted unbeknownst to the guest). He could have simply said, “I have already put in the order but can check if it can be changed” would have sufficed. All in all, no one in our party has ever had a more rude and condescending waiter. The food wasn’t bad, but no better than average. All in all, food was average, host did not provide us a table for our party, assigned us a waiter who clearly did not want to service our table and the waiter was the rudest we have ever encountered. To make matters worse, this was our first night/dinner in Vail. I was truly embarrassed to have booked this restaurant for our group.

The barramundi dish was great, but my companions were not wowed by their food. Service was good, though some of the order was missed by the kitchen.
