The Blue Fish Restaurant and Oyster Bar is located historic Avondale, one of Jacksonville's most prestigious neighborhoods. Just minutes from downtown Jacksonville, we offer the freshest selections of seafood in creative recipes, including a large variety of specialty oysters, great steaks, fresh catch, and nightly specials. Light plate options available for the smaller appetite. Jacksonville's best Happy Hour 3-6:30pm daily. Al fresco dining available on our patios.. Our wine list is quite affordable with over 60 wines by the glass. We have two full bars with a late-night upstairs club. We are upscale casual and perfect for business or casual dinners, with friends, family or date night. Full banquet facilities available including private dining rooms that seat up to 70.

    Went for Thanksgiving. They were short staffed for the number of people enjoying dinner. Which was disappointing given everyone there (except at the bar) had to have a reservation. That being said employees were working hard and the quantity and quality of food for the money was about as good as it gets.

    Arrival was precisely as booked. The crowd was robust as was the line out the door. After a few inquires we checked in. Shortly thereafter we were shown to our table. The waitress was kind. Engaging and deeply focused. A lady with a smile that lit up the room. Her name was Elise. And with her virtues came a personality to match. She suggested a cocktail for the occasion. Its was by all measure spot on. The menu was all we could ask for. For Thanksgiving it was again, spot on. The quality was on the cusp of excellent. [The sparseness came with the need for more gravy] The portions proportional appropriate. The visual presentation had a constitution that resonated with the eye. The plate consumed but not over flowing. Just up to the edge where not enough and too much share a blurred line. A demarcation line will defined. The room was busy. Packed in fact with the ambient noise being white hot. I took it as to be expected. A celebratory infliction that moved the surrounds rather well. A general atmosphere of good tiding. And joy. So what's not to like? Noting. The tab was most appropriate and fair. In fact, we departed with a genuine sense of good value. One I would recommend to anyone, especially for Thanksgiving next year.

    Our server Mary did an outstanding job of pacing our meal so we didn't feel rushed on Thanksgviving Day!

    Enjoyed all of our meals. Server was friendly and attentive. The noise level was quite high initially, but diminished later.

    It was my first time eating at the Blue Fish restaurant and I was very pleased from the time we walked through the door until the time we left. I am definitely looking forward to going again

    I went for my birthday dinner. ratings: mussels 10/10, grouper 6/10, the shrimp and scallops were my favorite part of the old bay mix 10/10, but the mashed potatoes and mixed veggies it came with were a 6/10. my partner had the snapper with the blackened and lump crab & rated it an 8/10. we both shared the crème brûlée & it was a 10/10. our server Richard was very kind & attentive! I would definitely go back.
