This small renowned restaurant in the heart of Ilkley was founded in 1962. It was the first 2 Michelin Starred restaurant outside of London and for over 60 years has continued to be at the forefront of northern Gastronomy.

The modern British menu and extensive wine cellar offer food lovers an unforgettable experience. The kitchens commitment to the best, freshest ingredients, with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh ingredients from farmers and local suppliers.

The Box Tree represents a combination between 21st century efficiency and exquisite good taste. Whilst the kitchen boasts the latest equipment, the restaurant features a collection of art and antiques which define the style and luxury for which the Box Tree is famed.

    Another great meal with a fabulous array of flavours. As a coeliac, I am used to being offered alternatives to the main menu but the chef kept my offering very much in line with amazing bread, pasta and even a yorkshire pudding - it was a joy!

    A unique dining experience, with knowledgeable and extremely polite and friendly staff We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience, even though I managed to knock my wine over which was dealt with seamlessly by the staff

    As always, a lovely dining experience with well thought out menu ideas. A great collection of mini dishes to sample a variety of flavours, with the main Sunday lunch dish being very filling and great value for fine dining.

    Dined here 2 years ago and it was fabulous. Beautiful meal. Unfortunately they now have a new chef with Australian and Asian influences which I’m not sure suits the traditionalist ambience of the restaurant. It’s not to my taste I’m afraid so won’t be going again. Service was outstanding as usual.
