   Made reservation one month ahead of date. It was our anniversary dinner and requested 7 PM reservation time and a seating at one of the large windows. We had previously been at the hotel Hershey and dined in the circular room and enjoyed our experience. However, this was pre-Covid. Arrived for our reservation 10 minutes ahead of time. Was told there was some seatings before us that we could sit at the bar which we did. However, it wasn’t until a half hour later that we were seated and it was not a table at one of the large windows that I had requested. It was a small table just for two and the table was located at an area where no one else was sitting prior to our arriving, so I’m not sure why we had a wait. When I questioned the hostess seating us as to why we were not being seated at one of the large windows as I had requested she told me if that’s what we want, we’ll have to wait longer. I don’t understand since I hadn’t made this request a month prior. Once we were waited on and ordered our food I had lobster bisque as a starter and when it came, there was no soup spoon at the table setting or supplied with the soup itself. I had to sit there until I was able to flag somebody down in order to get a soup spoon. Even after our meal was delivered no one from the wait service ever came back to us to ask how our food was and if we required anything. Poor customer service. My take was that post Covid has obviously affected the quality of service that one would expect at a luxurious hotel.

   I can't think of a more beautiful setting in the Harrisburg area. I have not returned to the Circular room for years and was expecting more. While the food was ok, I was disappointed with limited selections, especially at the high cost. The beef, without a heat lamp was warm, but trying several pieces, they all had a great amount of gristle, this didn't appear to be prime beef. I expected the presence of other meats such as ham, pork, chicken, perhaps some a variety of pastas. The salads, desserts, breads, cheese, seafood were all excellent. Service was excellent.

   Excellent experience! I had missed this more formal, upscale dining when the Circular had gone with a diverse menu and smaller plates and too casual atmosphere--it is SO GOOD to have the old feel and upscale food offerings back! My only suggestion is that you add some non-alcohol wine offerings to the menu.
