We always look forward to tea service when we’re in N.O.T.L. and this time was no different. We love the aesthetic of the drawing room. There is a certain relaxed and elegant feeling when you walk in. You’re always welcomed with a warm smile as if you’re coming home again. Those were the pro’s of my list. Our two tea selections were not served as loose tea, that was the 1st disappointment. The finger sandwiches were ok. Nothing great but nothing bad. And this was our greatest disappointment. No clotted cream only a substitute creme fraiche with lime and ginger. So sad as home made clotted cream is something to tell your friends and family about. To finish on a high note the service was delightful. They were attentive, quick to seat us, quick to server us and checked in with us after our food was served.

We love going out for tea before seeing a show at the Shaw. The Prince of Wales tea is our favourite. There is always too much food for us to eat, and the tea is delicious. With many different choices of tea you can’t go wrong.

Lovely setting and deliciouschoice of cakes and teas. The only thing you should be aware of is the $22 seating fee which was not obvious when booking. we gelt this was entirely too excessive a fee for the experience. Everything else was well done.

The food isn’t the same. Sandwiches were served very cold and the bread was dry. Tea arrived over-steeped and bitter. Alcoholic beverages were forgotten and had to be requested after the food was served. Waitress was very friendly and kind but seemed to have forgotten about us a few times. The Prince of Wales was always my favourite spot for tea, but hasn’t been the same for quite a few years now and keeps going downhill. The beautiful, cozy room keeps me coming back and hoping for improvement but this will probably be our last Christmas tea here.

Not a great experience for the price. Hostess could not find our reservation (we had proof) and had trouble seating us. It was some time before we were greeted by our server and even longer for our tea and food (which arrived together). There was lipstick on my water glass which was only noted after taking a sip. Food options were good, breads a little dry, scones were fantastic. We felt very rushed once the food arrived both by the server and the hostess. With tip is was $150 for two people. Next year we will celebrate our birthdays at another venue.

We had a wonderful time at the Prince of Wales Drawing Room Restaurant this past weekend. We had the Highland Tea which was our very first High Tea. The atmosphere and ambiance was perfect, the food was also very good with my only critic being the finger sandwiches were the bread was a little bit stale. The price was a little bit high but from my point of view we were really paying for the experience and they did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and explained the whole experience to us in detail. I highly recommend this stop to anyone wishing to experience a High Tea.
