The Grill at Forty 1° North is a dockside restaurant designed to deliver a fresh, upscale dining and entertainment experience while providing a unique and serene respite from Newport’s bustling waterfront scene. The menu features grilled meats, seafood and raw bar, as well as organic and locally sourced selections. There is an open-air dining area, with individual tables and bar seating surrounding the covered Pavilion.     Beautiful view of the harbor. We got all appetizers but everything we had was delicious. Service was very friendly and accommodating

    I ordered scallops, they were cold when brought out. The appetizer wasn’t even finished when they came out with the entrees. There was almost nobody there, staff had nothing to do and the service was still subpar. Clearly people aren’t eating here anymore. Very expensive and disappointing.

    This was one of my worst experiences I’ve had at a dinner. First off, my server was unfriendly from the start. I informed her that I had a cashew allergy and she proceeded to serve me a dish with pistachio nuts. When I informed her I felt anaphylactic symptoms, she proceeded to tell me the dish was nut free. I then asked her to go back to check and upon her return she informed me the dish had nuts. She was incredibly unapologetic, which is bizarre because if I fed someone their allergen I would act accordingly. Due to the cross contamination of nuts, which I was not informed were in my dish, I experienced anaphylactic symptoms. Second, the price of this restaurant is absolutely absurd. To add shrimp to a salad, 41 north thinks that $34 ON TOP OF the cost of the salad is appropriate. I would imagine the shrimp were freshly pulled from the ocean onto my plate for that profound price amount. I ordered mussels which were rubbery, white, and tasted very fishy and salty. As a returning customer, I WILL NEVER return to 41 north grill or recommend to anyone.

    Tonight, I returned to the restaurant and I left with a great experience. The weather made it felt evening better, sitting on the deck enjoying the views. I had calamari for an appetizer, it was very fresh and not overly battered. My entree was the tomahawk steak(first time having one) it was prepared well & flavorful. No sauce was needed. If your in the area swing an dine in. Its an overall experience you must see.

    Pasta was overcooked mush. Caviar accoutrements were awful & everything sss served all at once. Mixed bottled water with sparking water. I can have a $500 lunch with better service & food elsewhere.
