The House of William and Merry serves contemporary American cuisine prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients procured from local farms, providing casual fine dining at a reasonable price. Chef-owned by the husband and wife team, Merry Catanuto and William Hoffman, who live on the property, the restaurant is a remodeled farmhouse on the edge of central Hockessin. Dine in a comfortable home atmosphere in one of the two dining rooms, the porch, or the bar. When you arrive, you can see right into the all new, modern kitchen. Full bar service is available including wines by the glass, microbrews on tap, and specialty drinks. Or, take a walk around back to see the herb and vegetable gardens.

Tuesday through Saturday we serve lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we serve brunch followed by a prix fix supper in the evening.

    Another top-notch dinner last night! We had the bison short ribs and steamed cod and practically licked our plates. We feel so fortunate to live close by and enjoy the talented chefs’ preparations and get waited on so attentively. Thank you all for your hard work and care!

    Great dinner with friends. Seated at 5:15 pm, was relatively quiet early but noise built as evening progressed. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Innovative menu, nice wine list.

    Another fantastic meal here. The short rib on the bone was perfect seasoned and crispy on outside an moist inside. COD entree was divine. Overall wonderful meal

    As always, the food was phenomenal. Everyone there is wonderful, especially Chet. This is my favorite restaurant and always tell everyone if they need to dine at W &M.

    House of William & Merry is simply the best place around for a special evening out. From the friendly greeting (they even remembered our favorite table) to the excellent food, wonderful food, and superb service, we always have a great time there. Ordering cocktails last night was a unique experience for us -- we usually just have wine. Their "House" Manhattan and The Perfect Pear drinks were delicious and perfectly chilled. Our server, Chet, was efficient, knowledgeable, and personable. And the food was all fabulous. Interesting ingredients combined beautifully in dishes like seared Japanese Hamachi and Prime Black Angus Deckle. We are so happy to have a restaurant this outstanding nearby and are very glad that it is small enough to maintain top quality in everything they do.
