   Service very friendly even late on a Saturday night (10:30+). Blackened cod was amazing, paired with broccoli and chips made an excellent meal.

   Much improved on the service front since my visit before Christmas. Food was good. Our table for 2 was super small and the plates and glasses hardly fitted on! My only complaint

   I always love dining at The Ivy as it’s usually exemplary service and good food for a fair price. This is my third time visiting The Ivy Market Grill and I’m always slightly disappointed- mainly with the service. Our main waiter was fantastic and very prompt as was the gentleman host at the door. Our main waiter had kindly let us know he was taking his break and directed us to whom would be taking over from him and I heard him breakdown what stage each of the tables were at to the other waiter before he’d left. He gave us a dessert menu but no one had checked on us after that apart from maybe 10 mins later to clear the table. Unfortunately, even though we’d booked in advance, we had 2 parties who’d just walked in after us get seated before us as we were waiting to be taken to our seats. Space is at a premium (I know this isn’t the fault of the restaurant) and it makes the experience a little uncomfortable especially with children in tow. We may have had a slightly better experience dining alfresco as there’s more space outside. For a restaurant in the heart of London that’s so busy, the service should simply be better.

    Chose here for our pre theatre lunch treat with friends, having been here in the past. We originally wanted to choose the special Ivy menu but were disappointed to find out we had to pay extra for sides, so opted for the main menu instead. Whilst the food was nice, our waitress seemed disengaged with us throughout our time there, which was a shame. We were seated in a bit of thoughfare, which was understandable being lunchtime, so we just got on with it and left as soon as we finished. It was interesting to see how the restaurant has changed over time.
