My husband and I went to the Keg for Valentine’s Day. I understand they are busy but our experience was less than stellar. We were seated right away (we had a reservation). We sat at a lovely table by the fireplace which was very nice. Our server came over fairly quickly and our drinks arrived in a timely manner. I ordered a filet medium well. When it arrived it was medium rare. When I brought this to the server’s attention, he went and got a small plate and asked me to put my steak on the plate so he could have the chef put it back on the grill. He left me with my potato and vegetables which I guess was okay so I didn’t sit and watch my husband eat while I waited. He came back about 10 minutes later with the same steak (now cooked very well done) and a new potato and vegetables. A manager never came over to check on us, which surprised me on a holiday. I ate a few bites and took the rest home for my dog. In my opinion when someone orders a $50 steak and it isn’t cooked properly, the patron should receive a new steak. Additionally a manager should have been notified and addressed the situation. Nothing was taken off of our bill and the error was barely acknowledged. Unfortunately our experience at the Keg was disappointing.

It being Valentine’s Day, they were busy! We were sat two tables from the front door. Okay. Tyler met us immediately. That was good. We were not brought bread or plates. One salad did not have dressing as requested. When we finally saw Tyler again, we asked for bread and dressing. Still no bread plates. Our meals came out. We both asked for medium and both were more medium well, very little juice. I had vegetables instead of a potato but the veggies were no more than come on the plate regularly. The broccoli was mostly stems that I thought were green beans at first. Overall, it was okay. This was one of many visits to The Keg, but it was the first time we were disappointed. Not enough to stay away.

The food and the service were both very good. However, for a restaurant that charges that much for dinner, I would have expected the noise level to be quite a bit less than what I experienced. Otherwise, everything was as I expected.

The Keg was very welcoming and the staff were excellent. Overall the food was excellent although my steak special was a bit too chewy. Minor compared to our overall experience.
