   It was my birthday and our first time at Salty Sow. My husband, my son and I were seated in the main dining room. It was very busy but, surprisingly, the noise level was moderate. I noticed there was no blaring music which made the atmosphere a very relaxing. The decor and lighting is modern and mellow. Our server arrived immediately with water and menus. We ordered drinks (I had a mocktail which was great) and the bone marrow and Brussels sprouts appetizers. All were excellent. Our main meals were also very good. Our server was very attentive, pleasant and very professional, clearing the table of empty dishes immediately and asking if we needed anything else. The restaurant is a bit pricey but not unreasonably so. All in all, it was a delightful experience.

   This was a return trip and it was an amazing experience. Will - our server - was extremely friendly and courteous and the food was simply mind blowing. The brussel leaves were delectable as always. The chicken was tender and juicy and the pork stack was very nice (a little bit on the tougher side on some of the cuts). The star of the show was the bone marrow - just heavenly. We will be back...

   The whipped ricotta was the best I’ve ever had. The broccolini was so refreshing. All my my group got the burgers and they were pretty average but the rest of the food was above average so it was fine. They were out of what half my party wanted to order by the time I got there.

   SS has been on our restaurant list for years and finally made a priority to visit with dear friends from out of state. Regretfully, we have waited too long to visit this incredible restaurant. Quaint, Austin vibe. We had a super attentive server (I can’t recall her name) who is only been with the restaurant a couple of months. She was absolutely a gem and took great care of us. My only feedback would be the brussels sprouts. Very tasty however it needs something to help bind the shreds together. Just makes it easier to gobble these yummy morsels up. We will be back again and again.

   Food and service were great. Layout was a bit quirky. Parking was annoying having to go back to my car to get my car license to enter into the parking app. At least I know this for next time.

   All of the food we had was incredible. Drinks were good but definitely don’t try to order off the menu. I ordered a gin martini and it came with no garnish, was not well balanced and not served in a chilled glass. The disappointing part of our experience was the lack of execution when it came to dietary needs. The staff confirmed multiple times that they acknowledged one of us was a pescatarian. When it came time to order food, the server recommended a wedge salad but failed to ensure that the bacon was left off. The server came 5 minutes after our food was dropped off to warn about bacon being on the salad which was very odd considering he assured us he was aware off the dietary restrictions while we ordered food. That said, I was a little surprised that the server didn’t apologize and no manager came over to check on us after the mishap. Overall, the experience was fine but the food was really what shined.

   Salty Sow's dinner selection and ambience are one-of-a-kind. If you get there a bit early their happy hour is bar none - and includes the bar. Every dish from beef shoulder with carrots and mashed potatoes to their signature duck egg fries is delicious. Highly recommend.
