The Strand House is a sophisticated yet comfortable family-owned restaurant conceived by a small group of South Bay families out of their love for great food, wine and friends. With floor to ceiling glass windows and 180° sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, world travelers and locals alike may come for the view, but stay for Chef Chris Park’s Coastal California Cuisine.

Our menu highlights the bounty of produce available year round in Southern California. Each week, our chefs roam the farmers market sourcing directly from the best farmers and purveyors around. The Strand House is also home to a thoughtful and carefully crafted cocktail and wine program that is sure to please each of our guests.

We are located in beautiful downtown Manhattan Beach, just steps from the famous Manhattan Beach Pier. The Strand House offers a five-star experience with the warmth and hospitality you would expect from a beach town, where each guest is treated like family.

Reservation didn't get us a decent table. They tried to sit us on the bar porch with heaters. Lied about availability in the dining. Finally got a table someone else rejected. Service was excellent. Rick took good care of us. Food was pricey but acceptable. It was so cold in there though as soon as the food was put on the table. No need to have the patio door open being so cold outside. Open air restaurant only desirable during the day or in the summer. Not at night in November.

Strand House is such a beautiful restaurant in MB. We've been coming to this restaurant since its opening. Service is always great, and our waitress was very attentive without being pushy. She offered great suggestions on the menu. We started with drinks (the Poire 75 is great) and two appetizers: Crudo and Crab Cakes. Both were delicious, but small. For our mains, my husband and friend ordered the NY Strip Steak, and both said it was over salted. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, which had a lovely presentation, but the fish was dry and the sauce was bland and mostly soaked up by the fingerling potatoes. Also, the food was served room temp not hot (plates were hot but not the food). Overall, we thought the experience was OK, but for the price point there are better food options in the South Bay. However, you can't beat the view.

It was an OK experience - booked an inside table, ended up at an awkward table out on one of the patios. Entrées were average the broccolini side was a total disappointment, dessert was amazing. Bright side service with top notch.
