This was the first time I have eaten at the Tenderloin Room. Typically we stay at another hotel closer to downtown that has another steakhouse located in it. The food was better here, and the service felt more personal. I would recommend the Tenderloin Room to anyone looking for a great steak and an enjoyable dining experience.

The nostalgia of this restaurant is fantastic. We loved the old school vibe. The young lady at the front was fine, but the greeting didn’t give us the warm and fuzzies. Our table was great, seated by the large wine rack. Our server Cindy was outstanding throughout the entire meal, she could not have been better. We both had soup, French onion and the Senate bean, very tasty, especially the French onion, if you like the old Famous Barr French onion, this was better. The pork chop was very good, perfectly cooked and the sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The filet was fine, ordered Med rare, it was more medium and medium well in some spots. It tasted ok, but for what they charge, it didn’t equal up. The homemade steak sauce helped, but for the price, it should have been outstanding, it wasn’t quite that. Overall, very good and would go back.

From start to finish, our experience at The Tenderloin Room was just wonderful. Our server, Cindy M, had complete command of the menu and made numerous great suggestions. The crab cakes were perfected cooked and full of delicious crab. The roving seafood cart provided very fresh and large shrimp (cocktail). The cowboy steak was done perfectly to my taste (less than medium rare) and the lobster tail was again very fresh and very tasty. The prices are on the upper end, but well worth it. We had a very memorable anniversary dinner!

Food and service were great. I could barely hear my wife talking to me across the table as we were seated closely next to a party of four. I’m also not sure why there is a question about the significance of your evening if nothing is said or done to make it special. It was our anniversary and we spent it asking each other what we just said it was so loud. Meanwhile a nice circular table was cleared shortly after we got there which would have been great. We have no issue in paying a premium for some of the best steaks in STL but the noise level makes it incredibly difficult to enjoy conversation, especially on such a big day. It could be our fault for believing The Tenderloin would be the right spot to give us the experience we wanted but we had heard nothing but great things. Hopefully our next meal there is much better.
