The Terrace at the famous Sunset Tower Hotel debuted a new look in May of 2018, featuring a refreshed outdoor dining experience with updated furnishings and an elegant new bar. The Tower Bar Restaurant has split views of the city from either side of the lobby. It offers a swank lounge, bar and an al fresco dining experience. Custom made banquettes line the windows that showcase an unparalleled view of the Los Angeles skyline. Art deco design influences include walnut with gold inlay trim in a subtle, muted color scheme. The delectable menu features California Bistro with Italian fare. A dress code is enforced, please call for information.
We are now open daily for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is offered six nights a week, Monday-Saturday. We are unable to guarantee a seating preference of indoors or outdoors. We recommend a sweater or light coat during the evenings.
Shorts, baseball caps, sweats, sandals, tank tops, phone calls, computers and photos are not permitted.

After years of good memories here, I was appalled with tonight’s experience. The service was condescending and rude from the start - I was aggressively informed upon entering that I could not move any chairs in the bar (even though the bar was half empty). Our waiter chastised us for not ordering a full dinner, even after we ordered over $200 of drinks and appetizers. To add insult to injury, after being rushed away from our table, we went to go take a look at the pool - at which point security swiftly descended on us to tell us the pool was “closed” - even though the area was not roped off and we simply just wanted to take a look. I say all of this as someone who has had 5+ years of wonderful memories here - I understand the vibe they are trying to achieve, but tonight that vibe came at the cost of alienating a loyal customer along with first-time visitors who were in LA from out of town.

Great dinner and energy in restaurant. Noise level was quite high.
The only issue was on arrival when they sent us back and forth and then would not seat us as we were 5 min early despite the table being ready?! Disorganized or trying to appear special?

i have been coming to tower bar for years now. they insisted on seating us on the other side of the hotel, which is basically their side to sit the less attractive crowd, they have never seated me there before and we asked to be moved and they refused. we sat next to a table of actual high schoolers with their backpacks… and then we ordered two tower bar burgers which are just short of $50 each mind you, came COMPLETELY UNCOOKED. RAW. we didn’t notice until a few bites in and all three of us all day today have been sick. extremely beyond disappointed in an establishment that i have been returning to for over three years now….
