Eggs Benedict and Royale came a little cold, which was a shame. We were enjoying the ambiance too much to send back but in retrospect we should have said. I guess we all have small off moments. Otherwise, impeccable as ever - arranged for a delightful little Happy Birthday treat for my friend.

Well, this is the holiday season and restaurants are crowded. The arrival process was not up to this restaurants normal standards. The tables that are in the foyer by the entrance door should almost be classified as outdoor tables they are not indicative of this restaurants expected experience.

We eat at the Wolseley whenever we are in London. It's generally very busy so reservations are essential for dinner. The food is consistently good and the service as you would expect from a first-class restaurant.

Lovely experience at the Wolseley, afternoon tea was excellent and good price considering the location. Service was good even though the venue was very busy. A real treat.

There was a big crowd blocking entrance with people waiting for table, checking in and cutting lines - no management from the restaurant. I had to wait for more than 10 minutes before I could speak to someone, despite existing booking. The receptionist was not very friendly. 2:30pm Booking was only for lunch or afternoon tea(then I had to wait longer for 3pm start), could not go for just coffee and cakes. Won’t go again and there are so many nice 5-star hotels around for food and coffee.

I have been to the Wolseley multiple times and this was definitely my last time. There is nothing fundamentally wrong, but I feel it is just does not deliver. The room is, of course, striking and clearly is the main attraction. At night, however, the atmosphere is not great depending on your table, as the lighting can be cold from above. The main flaw in my opinion is the food. Is just is not anything special. We had the Schnitzel and the Hamburger. The Schnitzel was dry and tough and the many sides (green beans, creamed spinach, mash, chips) we ordered had no taste at all (no spice had been anywhere near these sides - which cost about 6 pounds each, from memory). We spent over 300 pounds for the four of us (with only one G&T and one glass of wine). This is much too much for the quality of the food. Service was friendly and efficient, but not outstanding. I feel the Wolseley is no longer competitive in a world where world-class food is now available at many restaurants in Mayfair / Kensington / St. James.

Fantastic food selection. Not the cheapest but well worth paying for. A great ambiance and vibe with a real good atmosphere. If you want quiet I suggest the private dining option. Service was fabulous. Recommend you book as I saw people have to wait over an hour if they didn’t
