Found this restaurant a few years ago and have enjoyed good food and wine at least a couple of times a year. I have recommended it a few times to friends and colleagues. I thought it would be a good place to go with my daughter when I saw the Mother's Day offer. She wanted to go somewhere different. There seemed to be a delay before we were asked for our order but we both enjoyed the Starters and the champagne! I was disappointed with my choice of the roast dinner. I had to ask for the Yorkshire pudding to be replaced as it seemed just a burnt shell! The replacement was better but the roast potatoes were very well done and one was difficult to cut into. The veg was very good and most of the beef. We felt too full to go for a dessert! I think she enjoyed the experience but I've had better overall.

Food was really really good, nicest Sunday roast I've had in a long time and our deserts (creme brûlée and panacotta) were perfect. We don't live in Manchester but would definitely travel from Liverpool for Sunday Lunch again. Nice atmosphere and good waiting on, definitely worth a visit.

Service was great with really friendly staff. We ordered from the 3 course set menu. The food was delicious although the choice of main was a bit limited. The a la carte looked very interesting but with 2 (not that interested) teenage kids not worth the expense. Would definitely try the a la carte menu & leave kids at home next time

Upon arrival, the service was impeccable. After complaining about my dinner being too salty though (evidented by the fact I had only eaten the baby carrrots and hadnt really touched the fish) the chef, via the waiter, advised me that they had just tried it and said there was nothing wrong with the seasoning. I had not realised we all have exactly the same taste buds....?? They took 75% off from my main, and I asked why 25% was still to be paid. They advised it was because they had no issue with my meal. Total cost (minus the 75%) incl. service charge was just under £70, which I was happy to pay. Was very annoyed by the last 25% though and had complimented the service up until then. Waiter continued to debate and eventually argue with me and completely destroyed the ambience of the evening. Would never eat here again nor recommend. Shame really as service had been great until he decided to debate me. So, i paid and left. All could have been avoided if they did the right thing and had just taken the full price of my dinner off the bill. I was more than happy to pay for everthing else, leave a tip, go on my merry way and recommend for others to go, but maybe not order the same as me. Let themselves down.

Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing Sunday lunch. Wine a little expensive and the wine list did not include the year of the wine. One slight complaint - we were not shown the dessert menu, simply told what it was. We ordered cheese and biscuits but were shocked when the bill included a £4 surcharge which we were not told about. They did, however, remove that surcharge when we complained. Cheese portions were also very small. Overall though these were minor things and we were very impressed and will return.
