Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was built in 1971 by a man who was not afraid to put his name on his product. Rooted in warm welcomes & excellent food, Tom Ham made his lifelong dream a reality. Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is the only restaurant in the US to have a USCG operated & maintained Lighthouse attached to it. You can locate us on any modern nautical map as Beacon #9. Featuring a 100% responsibly resourced seafood menu & award winning Sunday Champagne Brunch, we are a must when it comes to the San Diego food scene. The dining room, purposely shaped like the state of California, allows for groups as grand as 50 yet private enough for a couple’s night out. Holiday brunches have been long time family traditions for many San Diegans. Start your family’s tradition this next holiday. With the best views of the Downtown City Skyline, Coronado & San Diego Bay, Tom Ham's is & remains a San Diego tradition in dining excellence since 1971.

I’ve been coming to Tom Hams for over 8 years. I enjoy their Sunday brunch. I haven’t been since Covid, but I recently went the other day for brunch. We sat outside and there was an amazing view. Their selection is still the same and they still have the seafood bar and omelette station and pasta bar. The only thing that has changed is the price. It is now $72 but I believe there is a 5% up charge. There is a sign when you’re walking through the door. I’ve gotten Sarah about three times now as my waitress. She is amazing! I will say I enjoyed the seafood bar. I enjoyed the oysters and the scallops. There is ample parking, but you do need to make reservations for this place. If you don’t, I’m pretty sure you’ll be waiting a while. I recommend this place for a nice Sunday brunch or special occasions. I’ve been here for dinner before as well, and it is just as great!

Beautiful location right on the water. Recommend outside seating. Watching the boats in the bay was a bonus. We had the King Crab legs & Steak. Crab legs were delish and steak was just ok. We would return possibly with out of town company just for the views.

The employees at the hostess were very friendly as was the waiter & servers. However, the food wasn’t very good. The calamari was bland and the rings were tiny and there were way too many of the ‘bodies’. We were sharing a salad and lobster roll. Unfortunately, both came out together. We had the asparagus, roasted corn salad and it was bland. The dressing was so mild we could barely taste it. The lobster roll had such a heavy dose of seasoning that the flavor of the lobster was overwhelmed. Here they should’ve added some of that lemon salad dressing. Service was nothing special. We had to ask for plates so we could split the dishes. Drinks weren’t refilled without asking. Last summer we had a great lunch, but I don’t think we’ll return.

Beautiful historic venue with views of San Diego Bay from almost every table. The views- continually changing from catamarans to Aircraft carriers. History- the dining room is in the shape of the State of California. The beacon of light has been shining on the bay for almost 100 years. It is maintained by the Coast Guard. Food- delicious and beautifully presented. We had mussels, fried oysters, grilled peppers, beet salad, and the Yellow tail fish. We were pleased with all of our selections. You can also order seafood individually. Server Alicia was quite informative and attentive. Thank you for a pleasingly memorable afternoon/evening.
