   The food was average to above average. The service was above average. We were seated at a table in the back of the restaurant with walls on two sides and only one other table was even visible from one of the seats where we were seated. It was a 2 person table. This table should not be used in this restaurant. It is as if you are not even part of the restaurant. I understand maximizing space, but no table should be in this space. We should have requested another table, so I guess I shoulder some of the blame. This table should be eliminated from restaurant seating.

   The atmosphere was a bit more casual than I expected based on their website, which I think is a plus. There were 4 of us and everything we had, both drinks and food, was excellent. It was so good we shared everything. I can recommend the grilled octopus, the oysters, the Beggar's Purse, the Carbonara, the Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce, the Osso Buco (special) and the roasted beet salad. I would rate this as one of the top 3 dining experiences I've had at a Vero Beach Restaurant. Service was excellent, prices are not low but are reasonable for dining at this level.

   Food was ok. Nothing fantastic. I had high hopes. Didn’t meet my expectations. Bread and oil were good. Carpaccio was overpowered w lemon. Lobster ravioli w chopped shrimp was fair. Could’ve used a creamier sauce. The chopped shrimp had a shell on the whole thing.

   Another great evening at Trattoria Dario. Had fish for a change and it was cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful saffron risotto.

   Best restaurant in Vero Beach ! Eggplant capanata was exceptional. As was the veal piccata. Can’t wait to go back !!!
