We had the prime rib 3-course special. The steak, potatoes, bread, and salad were fantastic. Had samplings of 5 appetizers… they were okay. Dessert wasn’t great. The biggest disappointment was the wine pairing… $75 for 3 drinks that weren’t awesome.

Wonderful that the full menu is available in the tavern! The staff is wonderful and the food is consistently delicious. Absolute go-to whenever we’re in Old Town.

We had not been for several years and came back for Caitlin's wedding. Really had a fantastic table and the Farmer's table deal is an absolute steal. Reminded me of great nights in Europe.

Good, not great. A mock tail, cocktail, glass of wine and dinner for two was $215 plus tip. We ordered the farm table for two. $75 per person. You get a portion (more than just a taster) of every appetizer, then split a entre and dessert. The appetizers were good. The entre (duck) was good but when you split it up it is two thin slices for one person and three thin slices for the other, this was not an appropriate amount of food for the cost in my opinion. Dessert was cider cake which was nice. we had reservations for 6:15 and didn’t finish dinner until 8:30. On the slow side to get our first round of drinks. Then a 20ish minute gap between appetizers and entre, and another gap between entre and dessert. Overall, food and atmosphere were good, not great. For $200+ for dinner for two I expect it to not take 2+ hours to get through.

Pretty nice restaurant with a casual/elegant atmosphere. Loved the red accent wall cushions, the brick walls & arch, and the 2nd floor wine cellar wall. The entrée menu is small and it seems to change as I can’t find it online since I didn’t take a picture of it, but we had drinks, appetizer, dinner, and desserts. I ordered the duck entrée and the flavor & meat tenderness were excellent. My relative ordered the frontier bison short rib (found it in the older menu online) which I tasted; the flavor was amazing, but the meat was not tender. The desserts we ordered were the warm apple cider cake which was dried and not as good as the madeira poached pear which was very good (found them in the older menu online). Getting silverware and the drinks took a bit longer than expected, but our waitress was super nice and polite.

We’ve supported Vermillion fairly regularly over the years and glad to see Chef Chittum back. They had run out of a couple items on a fairly limited menu which made selections more of a challenge . First course was okay, fried oysters arrived cold and needed salt which wasn’t on table. I hate that. Second course was a little more satisfying, I had Rockfish which also needed seasoning. I’ll remember to ask for salt prior to ordering when I go there again and I’m not a salt fiend. Wife had bison short ribs that I felt were undercooked as I believe braised short ribs should be fall off the bone. These were far from that. Deserts, drinks, wine selections and service was good to very good. Not my best meal at Vermillion yet it will remain my favorite spot in Old Town.
