Chef/Owners Lisa & Terry Harwood opened Vine Street Cafe in 2003. Located on South Ferry Road, just 1.5 miles from the South Ferry. Chef Terry works with area farmers, fishermen & vineyards and features their natural bounty on his seasonal menus. We make everything in house and Lisa's desserts, ice creams and fruit crisps are no exception. Recently, we opened a small market behind the restaurant. This is where you pick up take-out orders while stocking your home pantry. Specialty catering is available along with ready fresh meals such as meatballs, chicken salad, bread, smoked ribs, BBQ Sauce and a selection of artisan pastas. Reservations are highly recommended year round.

    This restaurants consistency is unsurpassed. Food delicious plus great vibe and good pricing. Something that is hard to find in this community. The service was so friendly and attentive and for the value it’s one of the best restaurants of its kind. The menu is really diverse and interesting and their specials weekly are just amazing. Dining room ambience cozy and airy.

    Excellent food. Excellent service. Lots of local regulars who seemed to be repeat customers and loved the place. Super cool location. Tucked away in the middle of the island. Very unique experience for Long Island. Highly recommend.

    As busy as the evening was, our reserved time was extended by 10 minutes and we were given a seat at the bar. It was a great experience with several different food options. Once our table was ready, we enjoyed a great meal, excellent service and wonderful ambiance.

    We are frequent visitors to this place and we love it. Last night was the exception as a poor seating choice was costly. We were seated near the bussing station. Very loud and busy staff passing back and forth. My meal had to be sent back. First time we’ve ever had a wrinkle there. They very graciously removed the food from the bill and replaced the item in a timely manner. We will still look forward to eating here in the future.
