Located in the heart of Boston's North End neighborhood, VINOTECA di MONICA serves Rustic Regional Italian cuisine and Wine Spectator’s Grand Award for one of the largest Selections of Italian wines in the city.

You no longer need to travel to Italy to experience the marriage between regional Italian food and wine. The menu focuses on the preservation of traditional regional dishes, with an unpretentious dedication to the true flavors that make regional Italian cuisine so popular.

The art of pasta and bread making are carried out daily, for your sampling, where the freshest ingredients is an everyday affair. VINOTECA di MONICA is the result of Monica’s Restaurant evolution and our passion for the Italian culture and the big role food and wine plays in its preservation.

Exceptional Meal at Monica’s – A Hidden Gem! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Monica’s before a game, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We started off with a perfectly crafted Negroni, made even better with the addition of 9diDante vermouth – a fantastic upgrade from the usual. For the pizza, we shared the Capocolo, which was a delight. The caramelized onions and figs were a perfect balance of sweet and savory, making each bite more enjoyable than the last. I opted for the steak, paired with a glass of Fontanafredda Barolo. It was such a treat to find this exceptional wine available by the glass – a rarity, and it paired beautifully with the steak. My date had the special – beef and mushroom ravioli – and after sampling it, I can confidently say the pasta was out of this world. The texture and flavors were outstanding, and it was a real highlight of the meal. To cap off the night, she had the best espresso martini, and I indulged in the flourless chocolate torta, which was the perfect end to a remarkable meal. Monica’s continues to impress with its creative menu, excellent wine selection, and impeccable service. I’ll definitely be back!

A Hidden Gem - Incredible Homemade Italian Cuisine My girlfriend Francine and I had the pleasure of dining at Monica's, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Monica clearly puts her heart into every dish, and it shows in the quality and flavors. We began with a delicious beef carpaccio that had the perfect balance of tenderness, and the capers added a lovely burst of flavor. Francine started with the vitello tonnato, which she absolutely adored. The balance of creamy sauce and tender veal was spot-on. For our main, we shared a linguini pomodoro, and the homemade pasta was nothing short of amazing—light, fresh, and perfectly paired with the rich, tangy sauce. I opted for the vitello valdostana, a bone-in veal chop that was beautifully cooked—juicy, flavorful, and tender. It was a standout dish, cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared a classic tiramisu that was light, creamy, and a perfect end to a wonderful meal. To cap off the evening, I had a grappa, which was the perfect digestif after such an indulgent meal. The service was warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Monica's is truly a gem. We can’t wait to return and try even more from the menu. Highly recommend!

Had a second visit to Monica’s on Richmond this week, and it was just as amazing as the first. Consistent food and excellent service every time. Already planning another trip, and took home some pasta and sauce from their shop next door—such a treat! Love this place!

I’ve been coming to this fantastic Italian restaurant in the North End for almost 30 years, and it’s still as amazing as ever! The food remains top-tier, the atmosphere is always lively, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It’s a true pleasure to support this local gem, especially with the challenges the North End is facing. With the mayor pushing policies that could hurt these beloved Italian spots, it’s more important than ever to show our support. Still the best—here’s to many more years!
